Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Your family's data is sacred.

We don't collect more than what is strictly necessary. We never sell information. Everything is processed ephemerally. No tracking, no profiling, no advertising — ever. Your family is not a product.

This is not marketing: it's the principle that guides every technical and business decision we make. This document explains, in clear terms, how we uphold it in practice.

Although Uruguay does not yet have specific legislation on children's digital rights, Ceibo voluntarily adopts the highest international standards — the EU's DSA, Brazil's ECA Digital, and the principles set out by UNICEF and the UN CRC.

1. Who We Are

Ceibo is an artificial intelligence service designed to help families organize and connect. Operated by Ceibo Technologies ("we", "our", or "the company").

For privacy inquiries: privacy@ceibo.family

2. What Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Waitlist registration: name and email address.
  • Communications: if you contact us by email or social media, we retain that correspondence to respond to you.

2.2 Family Context Within Your Instance

Once the service launches, Ceibo operates through instances isolated per family. The information Ceibo learns about your family — messages, schedules, preferences, app integrations — is stored encrypted at rest and transmitted encrypted in transit.

Access to the contents of your family context is restricted to authorized technical personnel and occurs only when necessary to operate, maintain, or troubleshoot the service. We do not use your family context to train models, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties for commercial or advertising purposes.

2.3 Technical Operating Information

To operate and improve Ceibo, we monitor the system in an anonymous and aggregated way:

  • Errors and diagnostics: failures in specific skills, technical exceptions, response times.
  • Aggregated feature usage: which skills are used most, adoption metrics, load patterns.

This information does not include personal content and is not linked to your family in any identifiable way.

2.4 Website Information

  • Usage data: pages visited, time on site, actions taken (through analytics cookies).
  • Technical data: device type, browser, operating system, and IP address (anonymized).

2.5 What We Do NOT Do

  • Your family is not a product. We never sell, rent, or trade your information.
  • We do not show advertising inside Ceibo, to parents or to minors.
  • We do not use your family context to train models or to build commercial profiles.
  • We do not access your apps — you link them. Ceibo only works with the integrations you explicitly connect (calendar, messaging, email), and you can revoke those links at any time.
  • We do not store payment data on our servers. It is processed by a certified provider under the PCI-DSS standard.

3. How We Use Each Type of Information

Each type of information declared in the previous section has a specific and limited use:

  • Waitlist data (name, email): to manage your access to the launch program and send you updates about Ceibo.
  • Family context (within your instance): exclusively to let Ceibo operate in the service of your family. It is not used for any other purpose.
  • Anonymous technical information: to diagnose errors, measure aggregated feature usage, and improve the product.
  • Website information: to understand how the site is used and detect issues.
  • Legal compliance: to respond to requirements from competent authorities when required by law, in the minimum measure necessary.

We never use any of these sources for advertising.

4. Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell, rent, or commercialize your personal information under any circumstances.

We may share data with third parties only in these cases:

  • Service providers that help us operate the platform (for example, email or analytics services), always under confidentiality agreements and with minimum necessary access.
  • AI model providers: to operate its capabilities, Ceibo processes data through language-model providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google). These providers operate under contractual agreements that prohibit the use of your information to train their models. Your family context never leaves the agreed perimeter.
  • Legal obligations: if required by a competent authority by law, and only to the minimum extent required.

5. Special Protection for Minors

Ceibo adopts the principle of the best interests of the child (UN CRC, Art. 3) as the guiding criterion for every technical and design decision. This is a responsibility we take very seriously, and it translates into concrete protections:

  • Parental authorization as the entry point. Minors do not create their own accounts. They are added to the family instance by a responsible adult, who authorizes their participation and acts as the legal holder of their data.
  • Strict minimization. For each minor, Ceibo collects only what is necessary to protect and accompany them — nothing more.
  • Signals without spying. When Ceibo detects patterns that matter (inappropriate content, signs of bullying, changes in behavior), the alert goes to the responsible adult without exposing the minor's private content.
  • No commercialization in any form. Data about minors is never sold, cross-referenced with third parties, or used for commercial profiles or advertising, within Ceibo or elsewhere.
  • Full parental control. The responsible adult can review, correct, or delete the data of a minor in their care at any time.
  • Transition to adulthood. Upon reaching the age of majority, the minor may request the deletion of their history or take control of their own data.
  • AI disclosure. Minors always know they are interacting with an artificial intelligence, not a person. Ceibo never presents itself as human, as a friend, or as an adult role model.
  • Response to critical signals. If Ceibo detects signs of self-harm, suicidal ideation, eating disorders, or other critical situations, it provides the minor — and notifies the responsible adult — with information on helplines and professional resources.
  • No compulsive-use patterns. Ceibo is not designed for extended sessions and does not use addictive patterns (infinite scrolling, gamification, 24/7 notifications). Its goal is to give time back to the family, not to capture it.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies for site functionality and analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

You can manage your cookie preferences at any time through your browser settings.

7. Data Retention

  • Waitlist data: retained while the service is active or until you request deletion.
  • Family context: retained while your account is active. If you cancel, you can export it or request immediate deletion. If you don't indicate a preference, we delete it automatically 30 days after cancellation.
  • Usage data: processed ephemerally and aggregated anonymously.
  • Communications: retained for the time necessary to respond to your inquiry.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your country of residence, you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Object to the processing of your data.
  • Port your data to another service.

To exercise any of these rights, write to us at privacy@ceibo.family. We will respond within a maximum of 30 days.

9. Security

We apply technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. This includes encryption at rest and in transit (TLS), restricted access to personal data under the principle of least privilege, per-family instance segregation, and periodic security reviews.

10. International Transfers

We operate under Law No. 17,838 on Personal Data Protection of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay. If we work with providers outside the country, we ensure adequate data protection guarantees exist in accordance with applicable regulations (including GDPR for European Union users).

11. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by email (if you are on our list) and update the date at the beginning of this document. Continued use of the service implies acceptance of the current version.

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: April 2026

Before using Ceibo, we ask that you read this document. It's written in plain language because we believe legal terms should be understandable.

1. Acceptance

By signing up for the waitlist or using any Ceibo service, you accept these terms. If you disagree with any part, please don't use the service and contact us so we can help.

2. The Service

Ceibo is an AI platform designed for families that helps organize household logistics, manage screen time, and strengthen family connection.

Current status: Ceibo is in its pre-launch phase. By signing up for the waitlist, you are not purchasing the service — you are expressing your interest in accessing it when available. Access is not guaranteed and may be subject to availability.

3. Registration and Account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to register.
  • The information you provide must be truthful and up to date.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your access credentials.
  • An account is for personal and family use — it may not be transferred or shared with third parties outside the family unit.

4. Acceptable Use

Ceibo is designed for legitimate family use. By using the service, you agree not to:

  • Use Ceibo for illegal activities or activities that violate third-party rights.
  • Attempt to access systems or data without authorization.
  • Use the service to harass, harm, or surveil others without their consent.
  • Reproduce, distribute, or modify the service without written authorization.
  • Use it in a way that overloads or interferes with the service infrastructure.

5. Minors

Ceibo is designed to serve families, including children and adolescents, under the principle of the best interests of the child (UN CRC, Art. 3). As a responsible adult:

  • You act as the legal holder of the data of the minors in your care and authorize their participation in the family instance.
  • You are responsible for configuring appropriate restrictions and limits for each minor.
  • Ceibo does not replace parental supervision — it is a support tool, not a companion AI (see section 7).
  • The specific protections applicable to minors are detailed in section 5 of our Privacy Policy.

6. Family Consent

Ceibo processes data from multiple members of your family. Therefore:

  • Each adult in the family unit must give individual consent for their data to be processed. The person registering the account cannot add another adult without their explicit consent.
  • For minors in their care, the responsible adult or adults act as the legal holders of their data, within the framework described in the Privacy Policy (section 5).
  • Each adult in the family unit may request at any time to withdraw their consent or delete their data, without affecting use of the service by the rest.

7. Artificial Intelligence and Limitations

Ceibo uses artificial intelligence technology. This means:

  • Ceibo's suggestions and responses are guidance, not definitive decisions.
  • Ceibo can make mistakes. It should not be used as the sole source for medical, legal, financial, or safety decisions.
  • The AI is continuously trained and improved — the service's behavior may evolve over time.
  • Ceibo is a coordinating AI, not a conversational one: it is not designed to replace human relationships, friends, or adult role models.
  • When a minor interacts with Ceibo, they know at all times that they are interacting with an AI — we never present ourselves as people, licensed professionals, or a "digital friend".

8. Privacy

The handling of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these terms. We recommend reading it.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and technology of Ceibo are the property of Ceibo Technologies or its licensors. Nothing in these terms grants you ownership rights over the service.

The content you generate or input into Ceibo (messages, preferences, configurations) is yours. We do not claim ownership over it.

10. Service Availability

We make our best effort to keep Ceibo continuously available, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. The service may be temporarily offline for maintenance, updates, or causes beyond our control.

11. Service Modifications

Ceibo may update, modify, or discontinue service features. In the case of significant changes, we will notify you with reasonable advance notice.

12. Pricing and Billing

All families receive a 7-day free trial when activating their subscription. Additionally, the first 100 families confirmed from the waitlist receive a 3-month launch offer during which the monthly subscription charge is waived; plan credits still apply. After the trial or launch offer ends, or for families added later, the commercial terms of the current plan will apply. Any changes will be communicated with the reasonable notice established in section 16.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ceibo shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the service.
  • Loss of data caused by factors beyond our control.
  • Decisions made based on AI suggestions.
  • Critical decisions. Ceibo assumes no liability for medical, legal, financial, or safety decisions made on the basis of its suggestions. These always require the judgment of the responsible adult and, where applicable, professional consultation.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid for the service in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim.

14. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time from the Customer Portal or by writing to hello@ceibo.family.

Upon cancellation, you may export or request the immediate deletion of your family context. Retention periods and conditions are detailed in section 7 of our Privacy Policy.

Ceibo may suspend or cancel access to an account in case of violation of these terms, with prior notification when possible and respecting the same data-export guarantees.

15. Applicable Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, in particular Law No. 17,838 on Personal Data Protection and its regulatory decree. Additionally, Ceibo complies with the specific child-protection regulations applicable in the jurisdictions where it operates — including Brazil's ECA Digital (Law 15.211/2025), the European Union's Digital Services Act and GDPR, and federal and state provisions in the United States — adopting in each case the most protective standard.

16. Changes to These Terms

If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 15 days in advance. Continued use of the service after that period implies acceptance of the new terms.

17. Contact

Plans & Pricing

Effective upon launch of the commercial service

How credits work: Ceibo runs on a transparent credit model. One credit equals $0.01 USD of inference at the provider's real cost (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or others). Each query deducts credits based on the model used and tokens consumed — no hidden markups on inference.

When you purchase credits (through the plan or via top-ups), Ceibo charges a 20% fee. That is our entire margin: the per-inference price you see is exactly what Ceibo pays to the provider.

We are currently in the waitlist phase. These terms will take effect for confirmed users when we launch.

1. Family Plan — $100 USD / month

Full access to Ceibo for your family (up to 6 members per account):

  • Integrations with your apps (calendar, messaging, email)
  • Family memory, proactive coordination, alerts
  • 8,000 monthly credits included for AI inference
  • 7-day free trial when you activate your subscription (for all families)
  • Cancel anytime from the Customer Portal
  • Launch offer: the first 100 families confirmed from the waitlist receive 3 additional months free

Plan credits reset at the start of each billing cycle. If they run out, you can buy additional packs (see section 2). During the trial and the launch offer, monthly plan credits still apply — top-ups are purchased separately.

2. Credit packages (top-ups)

If you exceed the credits included in your plan, you can extend your usage with one-time packs. Same 20% fee as the plan, no volume discount:

  • $5 USD → 400 credits
  • $10 USD → 800 credits
  • $20 USD → 1,600 credits
  • $50 USD → 4,000 credits

Top-up credits do not expire while your subscription is active. Top-up purchases are restricted to the adult account holder. Cancellation and refund details in the refund policy.

3. Price changes

If we change prices, we notify you by email with 60 days advance notice. Users with an active subscription at the time of the announcement keep the current price during at least one additional billing cycle after the notice. After that period, the new price applies.

4. Currency and billing

Prices are expressed in US dollars (USD). Subscription charges are billed monthly on a recurring basis until you cancel.

Prices do not include local taxes (VAT, sales tax, or equivalents). When applicable, they are added to the charge based on the user's jurisdiction.

Cancellation & Refunds

Last updated: April 2026

This policy describes how cancellations, refunds, and credits work for the Ceibo subscription plan once the commercial service is launched.

If you have specific questions, write to hello@ceibo.family — we review each case.

1. Trial period

When you activate your subscription, you get a 7-day free trial, which applies to all families. No charges are made during that period. If you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged.

Launch offer: the first 100 families confirmed from the waitlist additionally receive 3 extra months of free access, on top of the trial. The full terms are in section 12 of the Terms and Conditions.

During both the trial and the 3 months of the launch offer, the monthly credits included in the plan still apply. If they run out, credit packs (top-ups) are purchased separately — they are never free.

2. Monthly subscription

  • You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Customer Portal.
  • Upon cancellation, you retain access until the end of the current billing period.
  • We do not issue prorated refunds for partial billing periods.
  • If you believe there was an incorrect charge, write to hello@ceibo.family and we will review it case by case.

3. Credit packages (top-ups)

  • Purchased credit packages are non-refundable once credited to the account.
  • Credits do not expire while the subscription is active.
  • If you cancel your subscription, credits remain available for 90 days in case you decide to reactivate. After that period, they are considered expired.

4. Service failures

If the service remains inaccessible for more than 8 accumulated hours in a single calendar month, we issue compensatory credits proportional to the lost time. Shorter disruptions remain at the team's discretion.

Write to hello@ceibo.family detailing the situation and we review each case.

5. Service discontinuation

Cancellation by the user does not generate a refund of unused credits.

If Ceibo Technologies decides to unilaterally discontinue the service, prepaid credits unused at the time of the shutdown announcement will be proportionally refunded to those who request it within the following 90 days. The refund is processed to the original payment method.
